Heat Shrink Tubing
Heat shrink tubing, also known as shrink tubing or heat shrinkable sleeving, is a type of extruded plastic tubing that, when heated to a predetermined shrink ratio, shrinks in size to fit specific applications.
Heat shrink tubing is available in a variety of sizes and shrink ratios to suit required applications.
In addition to black heat shrink tubing you will find a wide range of colored heat shrink tubing, perfect for color coding different conductors or cables. You can find the following color range:
- Black
- Blue
- Green
- Transparent
- White
- Red
- and many others
The diameter and shrinkage ratio are two of the most important parameters for choosing the right heat shrink tubing:
- Wall thickness is indicated in mm (when fully shrinked), it can be thick, medium or thin.
- Shrinkage ratio indicates the ratio by which the product shrinks (i.e., the diameter supplied in relation to the final diameter), it varies from 2:1 to 6:1. The higher the ratio, the larger the diameter of the object the tube can cover.
In case you don't have a clear idea of what you need you will find heat shrink tubing in handy pre-packaged kits, in different diameters and lengths.
