This kit consists of the following replacement transmission parts:
- Main shaft
- Main gear
- Set screw
- Primary gear
The BMG Reverse integrated transmission gear was designed in collaboration with MirageC, the creator of HextrudORT, to solve the problem of oscillation of the main shaft assembly and the primary transmission gear held by a set screw.
As MirageC explains in his video, the eccentricity of the double main gear and the oscillation of the primary drive gear help explain the surface irregularity found in all 3D prints.
To minimize these (in)tolerances, the following improvements were made:
- Double main gears with tighter tolerances
- Press fit on the main shaft with a new method
- The main shaft and main gear are machined in a monolithic set of steel.
Note
CAUTION. The primary gear is reversed, so it is NOT compatible with the Bondtech BMG extruder.
4x8x3.0 mm ball bearings are recommended.
Compatible ONLY with new HextrudORT extruder.
