Mosquito® Magnum+™ from Slice Engineering is a hotend for filament 3D printers. It includes all of the benefits of the Mosquito ® product line, such as Bimetallic Heat Break™ technology, a 500°C temperature rating, the ability to print all filaments from basic PLA to medical-grade PAEK, and rigid cage construction that enables One-Handed Nozzle Change™.
Thermally Optimized
- Filament is in direct contact with the hot block for maximum heat transfer efficiency
- Increased structural strength, ideal for large format printers and non-planar printing
- Prints PLA up to 88 mm3/s and ABS up to 91 mm3/s*
- Increases speed without losing resolution**
- Weighs only 30% more than a standard Mosquito, but with 3.5 times the output
Highly configurable
- Air or liquid cooling options available
- Ø1.75 or Ø2.85 filament usable
- Expandable heating capacity, up to 100W
- Sockets for redundant temperature sensors
- Optional nozzle insulator rated to 500°C
- Standard length Vanadium™and Bridgemaster™nozzles (12.5 mm) can be used for both Ø1.75 or Ø2.85 filament sizes
Configuring the Mosquito™ Magnum+ dual heater for RepRapFirmware 3.0
There are two methods for configuring thehotend Magnum+ for RRF 3.0.
The first method of configuring a Mosquito™ Magnum+ dual heater is to use two heaters in parallel, acting as a single heater with twice the power.
The second configuration involves each heater being tied to its own extruder heater output and both heaters being assigned to a Mosquito™ Magnum+ instrument. Both configurations will achieve similar results, with the option of using one or two temperature sensors.
These configurations apply only to RepRapFirmware (RRF) 3.0 or higher.
Magnum+ is the highest performinghotend on the market today. With more than 70 variations, you can configure your Magnum+ to suit your needs. Find out now.
