The Cembre group, founded in 1969 in Brescia, is specialized in the production of connectors and accessories for cables, tools for their installation, cable glands and accessories, products for the railway sector and products for industrial marking.
The seven companies that make up the Cembre group are based in Brescia, Birmingham, Paris, Madrid, Munich, Stuttgart and Edison.

- 1969: March - Cembre (acronym for Brescia electro-mechanical constructions) is established in Brescia, for the production of electrical connectors and tools for their installation.
- 1986: Establishment of Cembre Ltd. in Coleshill, Birmingham, UK.
- 1988: Establishment of Cembre S.a.r.l. in Bagneaux, Paris, France.
- 1994: Establishment of Cembre España SL. in Madrid, Spain.

Establishment of Cembre GmbH in Munich, Germany.
Cembre on the stock exchange, IPO and listing on the electronic market of the Italian Stock Exchange.
- 1999:
Acquisition of OELMA s.r.l. company active in the production and marketing of cable glands and electrical material in general.
Establishment of Cembre Inc. in Edison, New Jersey, USA.
The contacts to the Cembre AR 60 type rail are installed along the entire length of the Euro Channel Tunnel and in both the English and French terminals.
- 2001: Cembre enters the STAR segment of the MTA market of the Italian Stock Exchange.
- 2012: Cembre GmbH was awarded Deutsche Bahn the "Supplier of the year 2012" award, special category "for the development of connectors suitable for use on new generation cables".
- 2018: GmbH & Co. KG (Weinstadt, Stuttgart) Joins the Cembre Group
