THE SOLUTION
Do you have difficulty adhering your 3D prints without warping them? Do you have difficulty removing the finished model after printing? Are you tired of messing around with inadequate solutions like kapton, blue tape, lacquer, and sticky ABS? LokBuild is the answer!
LokBuild provides the perfect printing surface for adhering 3D models and also allows for easy removal of completed objects. LokBuild is a durable sheet that adheres to the plane of 3D printers.
WHAT IS LOKBUILD?
LokBuild is the ultimate 3D printing surface for FFF/FDM 3D printers. It is a long-lasting alternative to films and ribbons.
LokBuild can be easily cut to fit the exact shape and size of your 3D printer's print surface. LokBuild is made from uniquely composed sheets that easily attach to your print surface with a heat resistant adhesive backing.
LokBuild replaces the need for blue tape or polyimide films such as Kapton tape. It is made of heat resistant materials to provide a stable print bed for 3D printed models, while allowing completed models to be easily removed.
LOKBUILD MATERIALS
New materials are constantly being tested.
Here is a list of some of the materials that have been successfully printed on LokBuild:
ABS, PLA, HIPS, PET
colorFabb_XT, colorFabb nGen, colorFabb_HT, colorFabb XT-CF20 (carbon fiber)
Woodfill, Bronzefill, Copperfill, Brassfill
Polymaker PC-Plus (polycarbonate),Polymaker PC-Max (polycarbonate), Polymaker PolyFlex, Ninjaflex
HOW TO USE LOKBUILD
If you have ever used tape or films you will know that they are difficult to apply. LokBuild is more rigid and really easy to apply to your printing surface. Plus it's almost impossible for air bubbles to get trapped under the surface of the LokBuild.
INSTALLATION
1. Clean the print bed making sure it is clean.
2. Cut out the LokBuild to match the shape and size of your print bed. This can easily be done with general household scissors or a craft knife.
3. Remove the adhesive backing and apply LokBuild to the print bed. Start on one side and work your way to the other side, smoothing LokBuild as you go.
4. Adjust the nozzle height of the printer and make sure the print bed is level.
HOW TO CLEAN LOKBUILD
LokBuild should not need to be cleaned very often, but if you do, use alcohol wipes or similar (low % Isopropyl). Do not use acetone or anything with a high percentage of isopropyl, this will damage the surface.
NOZZLE HEIGHT CALIBRATION
LokBuild is much more flexible than some other products when setting the nozzle height and does not require such a high level of precision. However there will be an optimal nozzle height for your chosen material and printer.
The key to a good nozzle height is to experiment. We recommend starting farther from the plane than with other surfaces and then reducing the nozzle height slightly until the print sticks to the LokBuild.
The vast number of printers and materials makes it impossible to give exact printing parameters, but a good starting point for nozzle height would be between 0.20mm - 0.25mm.
TIP
When setting nozzle height start farther from the plane than with other surfaces such as ribbons. LokBuild works best without crushing the filament too much on the first layer.
REMOVING COMPLETED PRINTS
In most cases prints will come off cleanly with minimal effort. However, on some models with larger contact areas, a squeegee may be useful.
TIP
When printing with the platen heated above 100°C, it is a good idea to allow the print surface to cool before removing the prints. This will increase the life of the LokBuild surface.
