With TRINAMIC's unique StallGuard2, coolStep, dcStep, SpreadCycle and StealthChop functions, the TMC5160 optimizes motor performance, compares motor speed and torque, and optimizes energy efficiency, smoothness and quietness.
The TMC5160 is a high-performance stepper motor control chip with an externally enhanced power MOSET whose maximum current can reach 20A, with low heat generation during operation.
Support of TRINAMIC's unique StealthChop2 mode eliminates motor noise by reducing resonances.
The StallGuard2™ function also detects when the motor has stopped and then replaces a mechanical limit switch.
Thanks to DcStep™ it can run the motor near its load and speed limit.
The SpreadCycle™ chopper algorithm has high accuracy, is used for highly dynamic motors, and is a low-noise, low-resonance, low-vibration chopper.
Finally, CoolStep™ is a flow control function that balances drive power, motor speed and torque and optimizes energy efficiency. This enables smoother and quieter driving and reduces energy consumption by 75%.
