Type K Soldered Tip Thermocouple.
These thermocouples can be used in place of thermistors with heated clamping-style blocks or used generally anywhere you want to measure temperature: they are small, compact, soldered beads that can be threaded into tight spots and are highly reactive. The maximum temperature is limited only by the PTFE insulation, removing the insulation near the soldered tip may allow higher temperatures to be read as long as the PTFE is never exposed to temperatures above 250°C, PTFE gives off toxic fumes above this temperature, so do not attempt this unless you are confident in your risk assessment.
Please note:
In most cases additional hardware is required to connect the thermocouple to the controller board. connection to the thermocouple boards for the duet and E3D versions, as with the cartridge version.
