The Bondtech DDX Direct Drive extruder for 3D printers Creality is an upgrade kit that replaces the original bowden with a direct-drive configuration. It is a high-performance Dual Drive extruder based on the Bondtech Mini Geared BMG. It comes with all the parts needed to upgrade a Creality 3D printer from bowden to direct drive.
One can reuse the standard thermistor, heater,hotend, nozzle and fans. However, one can also upgrade thehotend to Copperhead or Mosquito.
The DDX v3 version is compatible with many models and features a new and much simpler configuration process. Specifically Bondtech DDX v3 for Creality CR-10(S)Pro/Max is compatible with the following models:
- CR-10S Pro
- CR-10S Pro v2
- CR-10 Max*
*Note: Using DDX v3 on CR-10 Max: On Cr-10 Max the z-height will be limited to between 430 and 455 mm, instead of the original 470. This is due to the higher position of the push-fit on our extruder, which forces the bowden to bend at a lower level below the top bar. Use the Z(height) parameter in Machine Settings in the slicer to reflect this lower limit. Select the lowest value and adjust the maximum Z with trials.
The DDX v3 is much easier to install.
Thanks to the integrated fan cover and support, the DDX v3 is even easier to install. In fact, the fan can be attached to the cover without the use of screws. The height of the cover can be adjusted with a front access screw.
Using a print bed leveling sensor
The DDX is designed to leave room for the print bed leveling sensor to be attached to the X carriage. In models where space is not available to attach a probe, such as the BL Touch, to the X carriage-for example, the CR-10 Max-a holder can be printed to attach to the right side of the DDX.

This Direct Drive extruder from Bondtech is a high-performance, high-reliability 1.75 mm Dual Drive extruder for 3D printers Creality, based on the BMG. Dual-Drive technology from Bondtech, combined with the standardhotend or, for even better performance, the industry-leading hotend Copperhead or Mosquito from Slice Engineering, provides a direct-drive extruder with trouble-free material feed and allows a wider range of materials to be used. The housing parts are molded from PA12 (polyamide) for maximum strength and precision using industrial-grade SLS technology.

The eXtruder Bondtech DDX v3 Direct Drive for Creality is designed to give the user more options-different materials, higher flow and/or larger nozzles, thinner layers-and achieve superior print quality. The housing design of the DDX v3 ensures effective cooling of thehot-end. Thanks to the 3:1 transmission ratio, you can achieve high resolution prints with small nozzles or high flow prints with larger nozzles.

Note: DDX v3 is not compatible with previous DDX fan mounts and guards. Therefore, only DDX v3 fan mounts need to be used with the DDX v3.
