This extruder upgrade kit for Ultimaker printers comes with its high-precision Nema17 stepper motor.
It allows for more reliable printing with all types of filaments, both rigid and flexible, and the Dual-Drive system ensures that the extruder never loses its grip on the filament. Printing with small nozzles results in high resolution.
The included nylon stand printed with the use of an SLS printer installs in the holes used for the factory extruder and has an included vibration dampening foam to be placed between the back side of the printer and the stand.
The gearbox around which the stand attaches also has vibration isolating foam to reduce stepper motor vibration to transfer it to the printer chassis to reduce noise during operation.
It installs in about half an hour with standard tools available.
E-step must be updated to 492.45 and feed speed used when performing a "Material Change" from the printer's LCD display.
Firmware with adjusted E-step and feed speed is available for Ultimaker2, Ultimaker2 Extended, Ultimaker 2+, Ultimaker 2+ Extended.
The reason the stepper motor crashes is because our motor uses a planetary gearbox, this means the motor will have to run faster to advance at the same speed as the original power supply.
For best performance, also use a 3.18 / 6.4mm diameter PTFE tube.
